Creating the best patient experience is our first priority. From the moment you walk through our doors, we strive to make your experience with us second to none. Whether you are a patient or a visitor, we will do our best to make you comfortable in our welcoming environment. And while you are at Woodwinds, our caring staff would be glad to answer your questions or listen to your concerns.


Contacting a patient/cell phone use

All rooms are equipped with a telephone and local calls are free. You may bill long distance calls to your home or credit card, or call collect. And courtesy phones are located in the Business Center (outside the Resource Center on the first floor) and near the Auditorium.

If you'd like to call a hospital patient but don’t know the patient’s phone number, call the hospital operator at 651-232-0228, and your call will be transferred. If you know the patient’s phone number, you can call his/her room directly any time. We suggest calling between 7 am and 10 pm to allow the patient to rest and keep sleep disturbances to a minimum.

Cell phone use is not allowed in patient rooms. You may use cell phones in the main lobby, Towne Center, Resource Center and Woods Café.

Gift shop

Buy unique gifts, floral arrangements, cards and self-care items at the Lodge Gift Shop at Woodwinds. Flower delivery to patient rooms is also available.

Internet access

Woodwinds offers wireless Internet access. Please note that Woodwinds cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the wireless network. Also, web sites considered inappropriate will be blocked.

If you don't have a laptop to use while visiting Woodwinds, you may check out a patient laptop from the Resource Center. Check-out durations vary based on patient needs.

Woodwinds is a smoke-free campus. That means there is no smoking allowed on Woodwinds' property, grounds or parking areas. Designated smoking receptacles are located across the street.

Visiting Woodwinds

Please check in when you arrive at either the Welcome Center or Emergency Department entrance so our staff can confirm the room number of the person you are visiting.

Family and friends play an important role in the healing process and are welcome to visit anytime.  However we ask that you are respectful of the patient's need to rest during recovery.

  • Our main entrance is open from 5 am to 8 pm, Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 8 pm on weekends and holidays.
  • The Emergency Department entrance is open daily for entry after hours.

Visitor Guidelines & Illness

Year-round we’re acting to reduce the spread of illnesses by emphasizing our visitor policy throughout HealthEast hospitals and clinics.

If you are sick—for example, if you have a fever, cough, flu-like illness, diarrhea or are vomiting—please delay visiting until you’re well.

Equal visitation

At HealthEast, visitation is not restricted, limited or denied based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability. Our policies give the same visiting rights and responsibilities to all patients and their partners, spouses, significant others and families. These policies reflect standards set by The Joint Commission, a nationwide organization that works with hospitals to ensure they meet a wide range of requirements in areas including patient rights and safety, quality of care and more.

Before you visit

  • Hand washing
    All visitors must wash their hands before entering or leaving a patient's room. Please do not visit if you are sick with a cold, flu or other possibly contagious illness. If you must visit while ill, please ask a nurse for a mask and wash hands thoroughly.
  • Fragrance-free facility
    For the comfort of all staff, patients and guests, please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne or other types of body spray.
