HealthEast Clinical Trials

This department at HealthEast provides patients with opportunities to participate in clinical research trials. Clinical trials are Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-required projects that involve testing promising new medications and medical devices. This type of research is at the heart of all medical advances. Studies may research new drugs, new surgical procedures or devices, or new ways to use existing treatments. The goal of these clinical trials is to determine if a new treatment works and is safe. Carefully conducted clinical trials are the fastest way to find treatments that work in people and improve health.

Clinical trials are an important part of health care, offering patients access to new medicines and devices years before they are available nationally. Participants in these trials can play a more active role in their own health care, gain access to new research treatments before they are widely available, and help others by contributing to medical research.
