Pharmacy Residency Programs

HealthEast is the largest, locally owned health care organization in the Twin Cities East Metro. We offer post-graduate year-one (PGY1) pharmacy residency programs at three hospitals: Bethesda, St. John’s and St. Joseph’s.

From administration to the medical staff and pharmacy technicians, our hospitals offer collaborative learning environments. Our pharmacy residents have the opportunity to develop clinical, practice management and leadership skills, while working with other health care providers to provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.

Your resident experience

The pharmacy practice model is a decentralized integrated model, so you’ll experience the entire continuum of patient care. Our pharmacy residents have an excellent reputation for improving patient care through anticoagulation management, antibiotic stewardship, participation in patient care rounds, and the use of technology to assure patient safety.

Your resident experience will include staffing the pharmacy, participating in interdisciplinary care rounds, medication safety, patient education, giving educational talks to other health care providers and completing a major research project. We also encourage you to think creatively about your rotations and take a leadership role in customizing your residency to get the most out of your experiences and meet your professional goals.

At HealthEast, you’ll be part of a health care community that shares your passion for health and wellness. As a team, we foster trust and confidence, the kind of supportive work culture that leads to low employee turnover, high satisfaction scores – and unlimited opportunities to reach your potential.
