The benefits of volunteering go far beyond the duties of the job. It gives you the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills and feel the satisfaction of a job well done.

Interested in a new career? You can use hospital volunteering as a way to explore health care careers. Get a feel for the work environment before you change or prepare for a new career. To accommodate most schedules, both daytime and evening positions are available.

Volunteer opportunities

At Woodwinds, we offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities that have been created to support the patient and family centered philosophy of the Campus. Some opportunities available include:

Welcome Center Volunteer
Enhance the customer service at our information desk by assisting Woodwinds patients, families and staff. Help with customers’ needs, answer phones, and provide directions. Some computer experience is helpful.

Surgery Welcome Center Volunteer
Support the Woodwinds model of family centered care by welcoming surgical patients and providing information and support to their families before, during and after surgery.

Escort
Enhance customer service by providing escort and wheelchair transport services to visitors and patients, as well as, delivering flowers throughout the hospital.

Gift Shop volunteer
Provide friendly and helpful assistance to patients, visitors and hospital staff in lodge-style gift shop.

Joint Camp volunteer
Assist the physical therapy staff with group therapy sessions and offer support for patients with knee or hip replacement.

In addition to the positions described, there are many more opportunities available to support our patients, their families and the staff of Woodwinds.
