Nutrition and Fitness Specialists

Sara BernsteinSara Bernstein, RD, LD

Sara believes in finding joy in what you do and what you eat. Her approachable style and positive outlook helps her clients to see their potential and achieve it. Sara enjoys mind-body based fitness and core training, which is at the heart of her practice as a level II Pilates reformer instructor. She believes finding the fun and balance in fitness allows you to learn to love being active, and that is the end reward. Her approach to nutrition is based on whole foods, mindful eating practices, and balance – "progress, not perfection."

Education, training and certifications
Sara has a Bachelor of Arts in dietetics and psychology, she is a certified personal trainer (ACE), holds Stott Pilates Reformer level 2 certification, is Yogafit level 1 trained, and is a corrective exercise specialist (NASM).

Beth has a strong passion to help her clients achieve their personal wellness goals, and her warm personality allows them to feel at ease and develop the strong rapport needed to work together and accomplish positive change. Beth believes that laughter and a fun attitude is important along the journey and she reflects this in her work. She likes using restorative exercise, which is at the heart of her Pilates reformer training, and she shares her a passion for eating a nutritious and balanced diet with her clients.

Beth has a Bachelor of Science in dietetics, she is a certified personal trainer (ACE), holds both Stott Pilates Reformer level 1 certification and special populations training, and she is a corrective exercise specialist (NASM).

 

bobbi-hornerBobbi Horner, RD, LD

Bobbi enjoys working with beginners, advanced fitness enthusiasts and everyone in between. Her straightforward approach makes her training style easy to follow yet challenging. One her favorite things to do with clients is designing cardiovascular fitness plans and VO2 max testing. She also has a special interest in helping people with complicated dietary restrictions and allergies, such as gluten intolerance.

Bobbi holds Bachelor of Science degrees in dietetics and exercise science, and she is a certified personal trainer (ACE).

As a level 2 Pilates reformer instructor, Rachel enjoys teaching clients how to balance their strengths and weaknesses through specific movement assessments and customized corrective exercises. These include Pilates reformer, foam rolling, stretches and integrated strength movements. Rachel enjoys working with clients to create balanced and personalized nutrition plans for increased energy and vitality.

Rachel has a Bachelor of Arts in dietetics and is a certified personal trainer (ACE). She holds Stott Pilates Reformer level 2 certification, has Yogafit level 4 training, as well as Yogafit for pre- and postnatal and senior populations. She is also a corrective exercise specialist (NASM) and a certified boxing instructor.

Stephanie is a true fitness enthusiast. She enjoys seeing her clients achieve more than they ever thought they could, challenging them to be their personal best. She specializes in boot camp, Olympic heavy lifting, marathon and triathlon training. She has personally completed over 20 triathlons, marathons, and 70.3 and 140.6 Ironman events. She likes to help her clients identify ways to clean up their diets through simple diet swaps, focusing on eating whole natural foods that make them feel good and energized.

Health and Wellness Coaches

nora-larsonNora Larson, BS, RYT

As a health coach, Nora supports individuals moving along their path to ideal wellness, whether they want to lose weight, manage their stress, or adjust to life transitions (i.e. new diagnosis, care giving, work/life balance, etc.). Nora will use an integrative approach encompassing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of wellness. Nora is also available for one-on-one yoga instruction, an invitation to enhance body awareness and physical and mental health.

Education, training and certifications
Nora holds a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. She obtained her health coaching certification through the University of Minnesota's Center for Spirituality and Healing graduate level program, and is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher.

During coaching sessions, Pam joins people in their quest to improve well-being from the inside out. Pam works with anyone interested in making improvements in any aspect of health and wellness, including nutrition, fitness, stress, disease management, work/life balance and weight loss. Pam is also a licensed pharmacist and offers her expertise to anyone who has questions about medications or dietary supplements. She especially enjoys working with people to reduce their need for medication by improving lifestyle.

Education, training and certifications
Pam has a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and completed graduate training in integrative medicine at the University of Minnesota's Center for Spirituality and Healing. Pam is also is a Doctor of Pharmacy. She received her health and wellness coach certification through Wellcoaches® Corporation, and also obtained advanced health and wellness training through their Professional Coach Training program.

Lisa is the first contact for most of our clients. She plays an integral role ensuring Ways to Wellness runs smoothly every day, and that our clients have the ultimate experience. Whether she is managing the office, juggling schedules or planning an event, her smile and warm demeanor make our clients feel at home.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health promotion/wellness and health education, and she is also trained in Yogafit level 1.

Brenda is the founder of the Ways to Wellness program. Once a nutrition and fitness specialist, she understands the unique needs of our clients. Brenda now focuses on growing our programs and services within HealthEast and in our community.

Mathew Rolando, MD
Ways to Wellness Medical Director

Medical Director of Ways to Wellness, Dr. Mathew Rolando is board certified in family medicine and practices as a hospitalist at Woodwinds Health Campus. Dr. Rolando graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed the family medicine residency program at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood.
