Frequently asked questions about the program
- Who can sign up for the Cardiac Prevention Program? Do I need to be a certain age?
Anyone who wants to prevent heart disease is encouraged to participate in our program. Each person is unique and has different risk factors for the development of heart disease including genetic factors, excess body weight or fat, abnormal cholesterol, high blood pressure and stress. If you are concerned about developing heart disease and want to lower your risk, this is the program for you. You do not need to be a certain age to participate; this program focuses on prevention, which can start at any age.
- Will my insurance cover this program?
This depends on your individual insurance plan. We do not bill insurance companies at this time, so payment is required at the time of service. We can provide a receipt of services for you to submit to your insurance company if you do have coverage. You may also be able to use a Health Spending Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or company wellness benefits. Check with your health plan to see what benefits you may have.
- Do you have payment plans?
We do offer payment plans for our Grand and Summit programs in which you can set up an automated monthly payment. The Selby program does require full payment at the time of service. We do accept all major credit cards, checks and cash.
- Will you communicate with my primary doctor?
We can send your information to your primary care physician if you request Ways to Wellness to do so. We will not automatically communicate with other health care providers.
- What happens if you find I have a heart condition during the prevention program?
If Dr. Roncari diagnoses you with a heart condition, you will be referred to the HealthEast Heart Care Clinic for the treatment of your condition. If your plan includes nutrition, fitness or lifestyle changes, then you may continue to see the wellness professionals at Ways to Wellness for these specific treatments.
- What happens if you find I have a heart condition during the prevention program?
Our approach focuses on prevention and not the treatment of disease and or symptoms. We also believe our clients are in charge of their own health care and we empower them to make the best choices for themselves. Our team approach brings together wellness professionals and cardiologists to provide you with the knowledge of heart disease prevention so you can live a healthy and vibrant life.
