Emergency Care During Our Renovation

St. Joseph's Hospital is renovating and expanding our Emergency Department. Commitment to patient and family convenience is our central concern. St. Joseph's staff is working closely with emergency medical service providers to ensure safe, effective transportation of ambulance patients during the construction. The emergency department entrance remains on Tenth Street.

Customer service amenities available during construction:

  • 24-hour-a-day valet parking

  • New waiting room

  • "Emergency Department Angels" volunteers during peak hours

Finished renovation

The Emergency Department is often the busiest part of a hospital and St. Joseph's is no exception. More patients come to our emergency room than any other department at the hospital.

The 23,000-square foot completed expansion nearly triples the size of the existing facilities, allowing us to serve more patients, more quickly. Among the features:

  • Twenty private patient care rooms, including six resuscitation rooms equipped with technology for patients in medical crisis and those with complex needs.

  • Design that promotes flexible use of the rooms based on patient conditions, helping foster efficient use of staff and other resources.

  • Features designed to meet the distinctive needs of at-risk patients with mental health concerns.
  • Increased capacity to care for more critically ill patients

  • Easy drop-off areas and parking spaces for patients and loved ones
