Do I need a referral to come to the HealthEast CyberKnife Center?

No, you do not need a referral to be seen at the HealthEast CyberKnife Center. It is recommended, though, that you check with your insurance company to find out if they require a referral.

Is CyberKnife® treatment covered by insurance?

Yes, it is covered by most insurance carriers. Please check with your carrier for specific information and to find out about any pre-authorization requirements.

Will CyberKnife make my hair fall out?

No, it will not make your hair fall out.

Will CyberKnife burn my skin?

While CyberKnife uses very targeted radiation, it will not burn your skin.

How long does treatment take?

While your appointment may take a couple hours, the CyberKnife treatment itself usually lasts between 30 and 90 minutes. The length of treatment depends on your condition and where on your body you are getting treatment. Find out more about the CyberKnife treatment process.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients need between one and five treatments, depending on their condition. Your doctor will discuss this with you.

How will I feel after treatment?
