Our Maternity Care Center is a warm and calming place, where we're passionate about caring for women and their growing families.
At St. Joseph's our experienced staff sets us apart. Our doctors, certified nurse-midwives and nurses have the knowledge and skill to gently see you through the birth of your baby. Throughout your stay, we will give you the reassurance and support you need. Because different things are meaningful to different women and everyone has different expectations for their birth experience, we offer personalized care that respects your wants, needs and cultural traditions.
Family-centered care
For your comfort and ease, St. Joseph's offers family-centered care. This means you stay in one private room throughout labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (if you are not having a waterbirth or Cesarean section).
At St. Joseph's babies "room in" with their moms. Your baby will stay in your room, providing time for you and your partner to get to know your baby and learn to care for your baby's needs.
Safe birth
St. Joseph's has a low cesarean rate: 11.3% compared to a national average of 33%.* Our goal is to give you the safest birth and avoid unnecessary interventions. If complications arise and an unplanned cesarean section becomes necessary, we will make that option as safe as possible for you. For more information, call 651-232-5733.
Special Care Nursery
Our Special Care Nursery is available for infants who are born up to six weeks prematurely and need extra care. Neonatal nurse practitioners are in the hospital at all times to handle any emergencies that arise. Neonatologists (doctors who specialize in caring for newborns) provide medical direction for the Special Care Nursery.
