If you been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease (DDD), you may be a candidate for a clinical study being conducted by Midwest Spine and Aesculap Implant Systems.
The study is to learn whether an investigational device is safe and effective in the treatment of degenerative disc disease of the lumbar spine. Drs. Glenn Buttermann and Thomas Rieser, orthopaedic surgeons with Midwest Spine, are lead clinical investigators in the study.
The study is open to those who meet the following critieria:
Subjects enrolled in the study will be required to be screened for eligibility and undergo the surgical procedure for total disc replacement with an artificial disc.
Required follow-up visits for evaluation are at: 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and 24 months after surgery. Certain subjects will also be evaluated 3, 4 and 5 years after surgery.
