Here is a sampling of recent awards and recognitions, earned for our high quality and commitment to patient safety:
HealthEast was honored during the 2007 Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) Awards. We earned a Patient Safety Improvement Award in the
large hospital category for lowering the occurrence of pressure ulcers. As a system, HealthEast went from 10 stage 3 or 4 pressure ulcers in
2005
to none two years later.
HealthEast Cottage Grove and Maplewood Clinics were recently recognized for their performance on care for patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Minnesota Community Measurement (MNCM), in partnership with the Bridges to Excellence program, validated 2006 data submitted by clinic sites across Minnesota. The analysis focused on four indicators of quality care for patients with CAD. Sites performing at 20% or better were recognized and awarded a financial incentive. The data is published on the MNCM web site at www.mnhealthcare.org.
In addition, in 2007, four HealthEast Clinics were recognized for their performance on diabetes care. The sites recognized for diabetes care were HealthEast Downtown St. Paul, Maplewood, Midway and Woodbury Clinics.
St. John's Hospital was one of only two Minnesota hospitals listed in the
June 22, 2007 issue of USA Today as one of the top hospitals in the nation, specifically for outcomes for heart failure mortality rates, which succeeded the national average. This data comparing heart attack and heart failure mortality rates from more than 4,000 hospitals nationwide was recently released online from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
