Couture for a Cure"Couture for a Cure" will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at North Oaks Country Club. The social hour with a cash bar begins at 10:30 am and includes exciting raffles and auction items, followed by a delicious luncheon at noon, entertainment by the Grace Notes and exquisite fashions provided by Sonnie's. "Couture for a Cure" is hosted by Cancer Benefit Fund. All the proceeds from "Couture for a Cure" will help provide wigs for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy at HealthEast Cancer Care at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood and for cancer research at the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Specifically, the research funds will be used to find alternatives to chemotherapy that uses the body's own immune system to fight cancer cells and tumors. For more information about these programs visit St. John's Hospital and the University of Minnesota. Most important, the dollars raised at the style show remain in Minnesota and are directed toward local cancer research and treatment. The Cancer Benefit Fund is a 501c3 non-profit organization comprised solely of volunteers who have raised more than a half million dollars to help aid in finding a cure, as well as support for those living with cancer. For more information about the Cancer Benefit Fund and how you can get involved visit the Cancer Benefit Fund web site. Sonnie's is locally owned and has three stores in the Twin Cities including Southdale Center in Edina, Tamarack Village in Woodbury and Rosedale Mall in Roseville. Sonnie's is a longtime success story for shoppers seeking quality sportswear and separates, beautiful special-occasion apparel and a strong outerwear collection. "Couture for a Cure" luncheon and style show is $60 per person. To reserve your table places, please call Carol Baumgartner: 651-464-6049.
