Woodwinds Clinical Nurse Specialist Appointed to State Nursing Board



Woodwinds Clinical Nurse Specialist Appointed to State Nursing Board Woodbury, MN (July 9, 2008) - A Woodwinds clinical nurse specialist, Maria I. Raines, has been appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty to the Minnesota Board of Nursing.

Raines, of Lakeville, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the ICU/Telemetry, orthopedic and medical-surgical nursing units at Woodwinds Health Campus in Woodbury. "I'm very excited to be appointed to the state Board of Nursing," said Maria Raines, Clinical Nurse Specialist.

She earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Minnesota and Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She holds a national certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Raines is appointed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to a four-year term that expires January 2, 2012.

The Minnesota Board of Nursing is responsible for licensing and disciplining nurses and approving nurse education programs. The board is made up of 16 members appointed by the Governor.
