(St. Paul, MN - August 4, 2011) - HealthEast Care System is proud to announce that one of its physician leaders, Brian D. Patty, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer, received a national award from the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS).
The 2011 AMDIS Awards salute excellence and outstanding achievement in applied medical informatics. The Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems is a non-profit organization representing over 2,000 physician health care information technology leaders.
"Dr. Patty has been a strong advocate for the effective use of health careIT and innovation to improve quality, safety and efficiency," said Andrew Mellin, MD, Vice President, Predictive Care, McKesson Provider Technologies. "It has been a privilege for McKesson to partner with him and his team as they’ve used Horizon Clinicals information technology to support clinical quality initiatives that have improved outcomes, and we congratulate Dr. Patty on this significant achievement."
AMDIS is dedicated to advance the field of applied medical informatics and improve the practice of medicine through the direct physician use of information technology.
The AMDIS awards honor individuals and organizations who have successfully applied information systems and computer technology into the practice of medicine.
The winners were honored at the 20th annual Physician Computer Connection Symposium, July 12, through July 15, in Ojai, California and in Modern Healthcare/Modern Physician magazines.
