(St. Paul, MN – November 26, 2010) – Bob Gill will be retiring as HealthEast's Chief Financial Officer on January 3, 2011, but will be staying on until March 31, 2011 to ensure a smooth transition with his successor.

Gill joined HealthEast in 1999 as a seasoned Chief Financial Officer. He has achieved success on many fronts. In November 2010, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal named him a 2010 Minnesota CFO of the Year Finalist.

"He has been instrumental in driving the process to improve our financial results, most notably an increase in our cash on hand from $11 million in 1999 to a high of $131 million and $110 million now," said Tim Hanson, President and CEO, HealthEast Care System. "Bob also helped HealthEast to secure the largest investment grade revenue bond funding in our history!"

These funds have been used over the years to support the St. Joseph's Hospital de Paul Tower construction as well as many other important projects that were a part of HealthEast five-year capital plans.

Financially, HealthEast has seen a positive operating margin every year but one while he has been CFO. His departments have enjoyed some of the highest employee engagement scores in the organization, and Gill embraces his role in driving that engagement among his teams. He has celebrated their successes, such as Patient Accounting reducing their outstanding days from 65 to 40.5. He is extremely proud of his team and the fact that not one of his direct reports who were here when he started has left HealthEast during his tenure.
