Nine long months and the moment is finally here: You're having your baby!
Where to go
When the time comes for you to go to the hospital:
- St. John's: Enter through the hospital's main entrance during the day or the Emergency Care entrance at night.
- Woodwinds: Use the Emergency Care Center entrance and a member of our staff will escort you to your room in the Maternity Care Center.

Get photos of your new bundle of joy
St. John's and Woodwinds hospitals offer the opportunity to capture images of your little one through Lisa Bosman Photography.
When you are admitted to the hospital, you will get a brochure on newborn photography. Newborn photos are generally taken the morning after your baby is born, so it's important to call the day your baby is born to get on the photo schedule for the following day. Images of your baby are captured while he or she rests in your arms. Please bring an outfit for your baby to wear and a blanket to use as a backdrop in the photo.
Influenza Season Hospital Visiting GuidelinesYear-round, including now as we face flu season, we’re acting to reduce the spread of illnesses by emphasizing our visitor policy throughout HealthEast hospitals and clinics.
If you are sick—for example, if you have a fever, cough, flu-like illness, diarrhea or are vomiting—please delay visiting until you’re well.
