Education
Dr. Valtinson completed her doctorate at Ball State University, Indiana, with an internship at the VA Medical Center in Pittsburgh. Her postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology was co-sponsored by Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami and Bis Rehabilitation Institute. She studied under Dr. Alan Mirsky, Chief of Research and Clinical Neuropsychology at the National Institute of Mental Health in Maryland. She has trained in both adult and pediatric neuropsychology.

Her interests include adult neuropsychology, co-morbid disorders (e.g. brain injury and personality disorders, affective disorders, substance abuse, etc.), rehabilitation following brain injury, and use of dialectical behavior therapy among diverse populations.
