Payment for Hospice services depends on the type of insurance plan and coverage a patient has. HealthEast Hospice Care will help any patient interested in our services to determine the level of coverage they will receive.

In general:

Medicare

Covers authorized Hospice services and related drugs, equipment and supplies. It also covers Hospice Care at home, in a nursing home and in the hospital when necessary.

Medical Assistance

Covers authorized Hospice services and related drugs, equipment and supplies. It also covers Hospice care at home, in a nursing home and in the hospital when necessary.

Private Insurance/HMO/PPO

Coverage may vary according to individual policy. HealthEast Hospice Care works directly with the insurance company to clarify benefits and maximize coverage for each patient.

Private Pay

Payment for non-covered care is the responsibility of the patient.

HealthEast Hospice Care Program Fund

Through the generosity of donors, HealthEast Hospice Care is able to offer services to all patients and their families regardless of ability to pay. The Hospice Care Program Fund exists to financially assist Hospice patients in need. Patients and families may request financial assistance when:

• Insurance does not meet the patient's need for Hospice Care
• The patient has an unusual need or extreme circumstances that create a financial hardship

To apply for Hospice support funds, a Financial Assessment Form must be completed and returned to Hospice Care. Forms can be obtained from Hospice staff upon request.
