Communications Center

Our state-of-the-art Communications Center is the hub of HealthEast Medical Transportation. It is the first point of entry for all emergency and non-emergency calls.

When seconds count, dispatchers quickly determine the closest available unit. Using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, ambulances are tracked by location. Information is displayed on a large screen in the Communications Center and ambulance status is color-coded so dispatchers can determine at a glance if a
vehicle is:

• Available
• On a patient transport
• Involved in a life-saving situation

Communication between dispatchers and our ambulances is accomplished via Mobile Data Terminals and 800 mhz radios.
