Dr. Peter Loewenson, a pediatrician at HealthEast Woodbury Clinic, is board certified in adolescent medicine.
His medical education consists of a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Chicago and medical school at the University of Minnesota where he also performed his internship and residency in pediatrics.
Dr. Loewenson has special training
in dealing with adolescent health issues including physical development,
body image, nutrition, sexuality, mental health, use of substances and other
risk behaviors. Difficulties within the family, school, or peer group often
show up as health concerns during the adolescent years. Dr. Loewenson
has a master’s degree in public health and was a medical consultant for the
Minneapolis school district.
His passion for working with adolescents led Dr. Loewenson to join the board of directors for Bridge for Runaway Youth. He also serves on numerous adolescent health committees at local hospitals and the Minnesota Department of Health.
In his free time, Dr. Loewenson enjoys camping and canoeing with his family, fly-fishing, cross-country skiing, reading, boatbuilding and woodworking.
