"I decided to become a nurse-midwife after working for 10 years as a labor and delivery nurse, and seeing the profound impact giving birth has on women. I feel very privileged to assist women through this important time in their lives."

"I liked the philosophy of faith-based care and respect for human dignity that is part of the HealthEast mission statement."
"Exercise more and try to cut out a lot of processed foods. Have fun with your family, but also make time for yourself."
"I commonly get questions about birth plans. I tell them our job as midwives is to help them have the kind of birth experience they want to have. It is their birth, and we are there to help them make safe choices for themselves and their babies."
"My sense of humor; I laugh at myself a lot. Also, a calm voice during the 'storm' of labor contractions. It gives them something else to focus on."
