Podiatrists Kenneth Ammons, DPM, FACFAS and Sean Thayer, DPM are on staff to treat your foot care needs.

About Dr. Ammons

Kenneth Ammons, DPM, FACFAS is a board-certified doctor of podiatric medicine and has more than 18 years of experience. He received his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University and attended podiatry school at the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.

After podiatry school, he completed his residency at Kirkwood General Hospital in Detroit , Michigan, as well as externships at Pittsburgh Podiatric Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Henrotin Hospital in Chicago, Illinois; and North Chicago V.A. Hospital, North Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the Association of Peripheral Nerve Surgeons.

Specialized Procedures

Dr. Ammons has extensive experience in medical and surgical foot and ankle care for adolescents and adults. Some of the specialized procedures include surgical correction of common foot deformities such as bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, painful ingrown nails, and painful calluses. In addition, he performs complicated procedures such as flatfoot reconstruction, tendon repairs, and tendon transfer procedures to assist people with neuromuscular diseases like cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy.

About Dr. Thayer


Sean Thayer, DPM, attended Drake University and Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He performed his residency at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Professional activities

Prior to joining HealthEast Clinics, Dr. Thayer was a staff podiatrist at the Minnesota Veterans Home and was also in private practice in Richfield.

Practice Interests

Dr. Thayer works with patients to help them overcome painful conditions such as plantar fasciitis and other heel pain, bunions, hammer toes, painful ingrown toenails, flat feet, ankle pain, trauma such as ruptured tendons and fractures, and sports injuries. He also provides foot care for patients with diabetes.
