Our Philosophy on Vaccines |
|
At HealthEast Clinics, we strongly encourage vaccines for your child. We advise giving immunizations based on the current immunization schedule . This is an important way you can keep your child healthy.
Vaccines start early. This provides protection for the young and most vulnerable. Diseases that can be prevented by vaccines are often more serious in young children. To wait or avoid vaccines means that children are at risk for a longer time.
Spreading out the schedule leaves a child unprotected. Spreading out the schedule does not decrease the risk of adverse effects.
The schedule is set up to protect children from preventable diseases. It is right for almost all children. There is strong scientific proof that vaccines give effective and safe protection from disease. Many trusted sources approve of the schedule. These include the:
The rate of most diseases that can be prevented by vaccines in the US is low. This is because most children are immunized. But diseases can easily return in today’s mobile world. When children are not immunized, we see the return of these diseases. Some current examples are:
- Measles in England
- Diphtheria in Russia
- Polio in Nigeria
- HIB right here in Minnesota
We believe that vaccines are the safest choice for our patients. The risks of these diseases are serious and long-lasting. Not immunizing puts your child at risk. It also puts his or her friends and our entire community at risk. These diseases cause severe and even fatal infections. Vaccines are the safer choice when compared to the risk of disease.
We strongly recommend immunizing your child on time. Children are our future. We would like to partner with you in protecting them.
