Our family medicine doctors welcome patients of all ages — from pediatrics to geriatrics. They provide complete medical care, including regular checkups, diagnostic tests (laboratory, EKG, x-ray, audio testing) as well as minor surgery and casting.
For the convenience of our patients, HealthEast Diabetes Care offers education at the Rice Street Clinic. Learn more here.
Due to a shortage of the seasonal flu vaccine, some HealthEast Clinics are temporarily suspending flu shot appointments and flu shot clinics. Find out more.
We offer interpreters for Hmong and Karen speakers on certain dates; please mention when you schedule your flu shot appointment.
Rice Street Clinic's medical service began in 1925 when Dr. Lewis Bouma opened his office on Rice Street. Medical technology has made huge leaps since Dr. Bouma hung out his shingle, but some things have remained as he would have wished: a neighborly atmosphere, an attentive staff and prompt, courteous service.
iHealth (our patient portal and online personal health record) was recently acquired by a company called Medfusion. This means we will soon be moving iHealth users to a new patient portal that's powered by Medfusion. Exact dates are still being determined.
Similar to iHealth, the new patient portal will offer secure messaging with your provider, online appointment requests and a secure online personal health record. Find out more about the transition from iHealth to our new patient portal.
If hospitalization is necessary, our clinic patients will be seen at St. Joseph's Hospital or St. John's Hospital. Individual providers may choose to admit patients to another hospital based on specific circumstances.
