About heart disease and Type 2 Diabetes
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the western world and high triglyceride levels have been associated with increased risk for the disease. Studies have shown more than 70% of high-risk patients with diabetes also have triglyceride levels above optimal levels. Data also shows that despite advances in cardiovascular care, diabetic patients still show a two-fold increase in cardiovascular disease risk.
