Pharmacy Residency

HealthEast Care System now offers a Pharmacy Residency Program. The residency offers a comprehensive learning experience in HealthEast's three acute care hospitals, one long-term acute care hospital and community-based services. Our wide range of programs focus on high-quality, safe and effective patient care.

Resident responsibilities

Individualized experiential educational rotations
A major project suitable for presentation or publication
Pharmacy staffing for two shifts in a two-week period
Patient care and medication safety committee involvement
Management and leadership experience

Rotations

Neurovascular Critical Care
Critical Care/Cardiology
Internal medicine/Surgery
Oncology
Geriatrics
Medical Informatics
Pharmacy practice management (includes formulary management, accreditation, finance/budgeting, quality improvement, drug information, and policy)

Elective rotations

Neonatal/pediatrics
Home Health Care
Infectious disease

Apply for residency

The HealthEast Care System started its Pharmacy Residency Program in July 2007. We are in pre-accreditation status and will go through the accreditation process within the next nine months. Our current pharmacy resident will participate in the accreditation process and gain valuable experience and knowledge. We are participating in Residency Match program and will be at the ASHP Midyear Clinical meeting to take part in the Residency showcase.
