HealthEast Emergency Care collectively treats more than 95,000 patients annually, 24 hours per day / 365 days per year, at our three distinct, Level III Trauma centers:
Each department is led by experienced and accessible Medical Directors and equipped with the latest in state-of-the-art technology and support of a collaborative team of nurses, allied health professionals and specialists. HealthEast is committed to a balanced emergency care model with a primary focus on the patient, not productivity volumes. It's the kind of care that considers your peace of mind, both at work and when you are home.
As a result, we provide reasonable scheduling hours with the flexibility to work more/earn more if you so choose. We also offer teaching and research opportunities, the ability to participate in our Active Process Improvement Culture, as well as the chance to be credentialed in ultrasound and participate in a full spectrum of surgical specialties and modalities. It's the autonomy and balance you are looking for in your career, and one we don’t take lightly.
Paying attention to retention
There's a reason Emergency Room physicians make the journey to HealthEast—and stay. We track 15 Quality Benchmarks as a system with a goal to be the top facility in the Twin Cities. HealthEast has also been ranked as a Top 10 Health System in the Nation by Thomson Reuters as well as a Top 100 “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare. To view more awards, go here.
Our extremely low turnover rate can also be attributed to an experienced, committed and personable support staff across all three hospitals, and includes access to a 24-hour radiology team, our very own ambulatory service, experts in specialty services like toxicology and sexual assault, and leadership that is both transparent and approachable. We also have a dedicated in-house code team at St. Joseph's and St. John's and the availability of pediatric physicians at Woodwinds. HealthEast also believes in inter-facility transfers, based on volumes and areas of specialty expertise, so that patients don't have to leave the system.
HealthEast, emergency and you
But no matter what ER setting you find is right for you – the brand new building in an exciting urban setting of St. Joseph's, the tertiary environment of St. John's, or the suburban holistic atmosphere of Woodwinds – as part of HealthEast, we think you will find an Emergency Room physician career path unlike any other.
