Capistrant Center - Residency Rotation

The Capistrant Center for Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders is committed to teaching at all levels of medical education.  

Family practice residents from St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul and St. John's Hospital in Maplewood do a formal rotation at the Capistrant Center. The goal of the rotation is to provide a formal introduction to the field of Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.

Residents will:

  • Learn to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders
  • Be exposed to Botulinum toxin therapy applied in the field of movement disorders
  • Learn the clinical application of deep brain stimulation (DBS)
  • Participate in monthly movement disorders journal clubs
