Living Well with Parkinson’s
This free 2-hour class helps participants better understand Parkinson's disease. It covers brain anatomy, symptoms of the disease and treatments - including medications and deep brain stimulation.
We also discuss techniques for daily living, including exercise, strengthening, new technologies and advances in treatment options.

Parkinson’s Education & Support Group
This group is a great place to share questions, concerns or feelings. It is open to those with Parkinson's, their family members and others interested in the disease. The group provides an opportunity to gain knowledge about Parkinson's and become more aware of available resources.

Young Parkinson’s/Movement Disorder Education and Support Group
This support group, designed for people with Young Parkinson’s Disease/Movment Disorder, their families and others interested in Parkinson's Disease, provides an opportunity to broaden knowledge of the disease and become more aware of resources available to persons living with Parkinson's. This is a great place to share questions, concerns or feelings with other individuals living with this disease.

Dystonia Support Group

Super Body, Super Brain
Are you looking for a high intensity exercise class that will help improve your balance, coordination, and strength?
Super Body Super Brain is a circuit training exercise program composed of of multi tasking movements that challenge and improve both your muscles and your brain, created by personal trainer Michael Gonzalez-Wallace. This high energy class aims to improve motor skills, hand eye coordination, posture, stamina, and flexibility. This class is for participants who are physically active, able to multi-task and want a fun and challenging exercise routine.

Parkinson’s Disease/Movement Disorders Dance Class
The Capistrant Center is pleased to offer a 10-week class modeled after the Dance for PD program from the Mark Morris Dance Company in Brooklyn, New York. This new program is now being offered in Minnesota for people with Parkinson's disease and movement disorders.

Parkinson’s Disease/Movement Disorders Fitness Exercise Classes
This unique exercise program stresses components of strengthening, stretching and aerobics. The therapists supervising the program emphasize:
- The benefits of exercise
- Taking advantage of your current abilities
- Ways to bring your fitness to a higher level
Monday through Friday - 11:30 am to 1 pm Held at the Capistrant Center at Bethesda Hospital ("B" Level) $4 per person/per session

Tai Chi for Parkinson’s and Wellness
Tai Chi is a Chinese exercise that is often called a moving meditation. Its slow circular movements help promote energy flow and a sense of well-being.
This unique Tai Chi class is for people with Parkinson's disease. It is designed to help improve balance, coordination, concentration, physical strength and mental well-being. The class can be done standing or sitting in a chair.
The first class is free for beginners, and new participants must come to an orientation the first Monday of the month at 10:15 am.
Mondays - 10:30 to 11:30 am Bethesda Hospital $5 per session; your first class is free!

Clay Art Class
You can step out of your comfort zone or re-visit an old hobby in a fun, supportive and relaxed atmosphere. Participants will use hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab construction. Learn to create clay tiles, bugs, bowls, vases and much more. Classes taught by Northern Clay Center.
