In addition to helping patients who require long-term care in the hospital, Bethesda Hospital offers medical, therapeutic and rehabilitative services on an outpatient basis.

Outpatient Care provides services to people with acquired brain disease and brain injury. Specialists lead the care team for patients with cognitive, behavioral and/or movement disorders.

Caregiver counseling

This service is provided on an individual basis to help caregivers cope and adjust to a loved one's medical condition. For information call 651-232-2202.

Lymphedema therapy

Commonly known as a swollen arm, leg or other area of the body, lymphedema can develop in individuals who have had cancer treatments, lymph node removal, surgeries, infections or trauma to the extremities. Sometimes individuals can be born with abnormal lymphatic systems and can be affected by lymphedema throughout their lives. We can help you manage these issues through manual lymph drainage, compression bandaging or garment fittings, therapeutic exercises and patient education. Each program is customized to fit the needs of each patient.

Respiratory rehab therapy

Our respiratory therapy program is for people who need assistance managing their respiratory needs. Individuals in this program attend two-hour sessions three times a week for a six-week period. Respiratory, physical and occupational therapy is provided as the patient participates in individualized exercise, strengthening and educational programs. At the conclusion of the program patients may join ongoing support and exercise groups.
