Innovations in Health Care Awards

Minnesota Hospital Association Award WinnerRahul Koranne, MD, Medical Director of Bethesda Hospital, served as physician lead on HealthEast's Care Navigation Strategy to positively transform the country's current health care delivery system, focusing on improvement in quality outcomes and increased patient satisfaction. National Alliance on Mental Illness - Exemplary Psychiatrist

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) honored Robert Sevenich, MD, JD as an "Exemplary Psychiatrist" at the American Psychiatric Association's annual conference in 2009. Dr. Sevenich is Medical Director for Brain Injury Services at Bethesda Hospital. Learn more about Dr. Sevenich. 

NALTH Education Conference presentation

Amy Kieffer, Physical Therapy Supervisor, and Dorothy Connell, Performance Improvement Specialist, true champions for falls reduction/prevention, were invited to share a poster presentation with health care colleagues from across the country at the National Association of Long-Term Hospitals (NALTH) education conference in October 2010. The presentation highlighted the five key components of our care model that have contributed to our success in creating a safer environment for patients and employees alike. View the poster.

Eleven Who Care 

KARE-11's Eleven Who Care award went to John Mastel, former patient, for his long-term volunteer contributions in stroke support in 2009 and to Eleanor Jahnke for 75 years of employed and volunteer service in 2008.

John Mastel, HealthCare Hero award winnerHealthCare Hero Award

Twin Cities Business Magazine presented the HealthCare Hero Award to John Mastel in 2009 for his 25+ years as support group leader and creator of a peer visitors program.

 

Goldberg Innovation Award

The National Association of Long-Term Hospitals awarded Bethesda Hospital the Goldberg Innovation Award in 2007 for our integrated model of care.

American Psychological Association Best Practice Honor 

The American Psychological Association awarded Bethesda a best practices honor for BRAVOe, an employee engagement program, in 2007.
