Dr. Carls is board certified in family medicine.

Education

Dr. Carls is a graduate of Mayo Medical School. She completed her family medicine residency in St. Paul.

Practice interests

Dr. Carls practices the full spectrum of family medicine; providing care to multiple generations - from babies to teens to grandparents. She especially enjoys caring for growing families. Her interests include women's health, maternity care, gynecology, pediatrics and adolescent medicine. She has special training in coloposcopy, and is experienced in breastfeeding support and contraception management, including IUD placement.

Personal interests

Dr. Carls enjoys reading, knitting, yoga, travel and, above all, spending time with her husband and two children.
