He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and internal medicine.

Education

Dr. Benton graduated from the College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Gundersen Medical Foundation and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine at the University of Illinois.

Professional activities

Dr. Benton is the Chair of the Heart Care Council for HealthEast and serves on the Medical Executive Committee of HealthEast.

Practice interests

His clinical interests include the care of patients in both the office and hospital settings. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with pulmonary artery hypertension.
