About
Us
HealthEast
Transportation evolved from humble beginnings and has grown to our current
2.5 acre campus with 15 divisions and more than 50 fleet vehicles. We
complete more than 35,000 patient transports each year and currently have
165 employees.
The
company, originally called MedKab, was founded in 1969 with one wheelchair
accessible van and was run from the basement of a senior care facility.
By the mid 1970s, the company was expanding and building its own ambulances
and MedKabs. The company continued to grow and in 1981, the Vehicle Services
division was created. That same year the company was purchased by Health
Resources (now HealthEast Care System).
In 1994,
our Mobile Intensive Care Unit division was added. The following year
was pivotal in the future of HealthEast Transportation. Around the existing
core businesses of MedKab, Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support and
Mobile Intensive Care Unit, we transitioned our support services into
retail business lines and began offering our services to the community.
In 2003
we responded to market demand by police and fire agencies and developed
our Emergency Vehicle Services division. The new division offers timely,
cost-effective, set ups, installations and repairs on any vehicle or apparatus.
HealthEast
Transportation is built on the vision, determination and belief that if
we can focus on a goal and hire good people to make it happen, we can
do just about anything. Our employees have a true passion for what they
do and work hard every day to provide unparalleled service to you, our
customer.
