Mobile Intensive Care Unit
The HealthEast Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) team offers the most clinically advanced ambulance service available. Our MICU teams are staffed with at least two nationally registered paramedics, who are specially trained to care for critically ill or injured patients.

Our staff has extensive training in:
· Pharmacology
· Critical care
· Advanced Airway Management
· Cardiac management with primary angioplasty pathways
· Multi-system trauma management
· Medication infusion processes
· Neurological management

When a patient requires a transfer and no other medical transportation is an option, HealthEast MICU is the best choice for both ground and air transportation on a 24-hour basis.

Advanced Life Support (ALS)
HealthEast Advanced Life Support (ALS) offers 24-hour emergency service that is unlike any other. Our ALS crews are staffed by at least two nationally registered paramedics who have undergone additional training in Specialized Advanced Life Support (SALS).

Our ALS team provides vital support for our Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU), 911 Ambulance and our Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance. HealthEast has truly set the standard for interfacility ambulance transports. The services we offer include:

911 Ambulance
HealthEast Transportation offers emergency medical services for a changing world. We have successfully met the 911 needs of our community for more than 30 years and we currently respond to over 7,000 calls annually.

HealthEast's 911 Ambulance teams are staffed by some of the most experienced paramedics in the area, and is a leader in Minnesota for emergency ambulance service. At least two nationally registered paramedics attend every call.

Basic Life Support (BLS)
HealthEast Transportation has set the standard for inter-facility Basic Life Support (BLS). Our BLS units are staffed with two nationally registered emergency medical technicians (NREMTs). Our EMTs begin with comprehensive orientation and education programs and receive additional training in the administration of nebulized albuterol, Epi-pens and aspirin.

In addition to the standard array of medical and trauma equipment found on most BLS ambulances, each of our BLS ambulances is equipped with an automatic external defibrillator, Combi-tube (for airway control), oxygen, glucometer and portable communications.

Multiple communication options allow a direct link between physician and EMT. This online medical control is used to assist HealthEast EMTs in providing the optimal treatment regimen for each patient. Those who might benefit from this type of ambulance transport include: patients requiring non-life-threatening emergency room visits, oxygen, scheduled medical appointments, or patients where medical necessity requires they be transported lying down.

MedKab
With more than 40 years of experience, HealthEast Transportation has set the standard in special transportation service (STS). As one of our customers recently stated, "MedKab is a compassionate ride from point A to point B."

Our clients' safety and security is paramount to the service we provide. Many of our drivers are nationally registered emergency medical technicians (NREMTs) and receive ongoing education through the HealthEast Emergency Medical Education department.

It is mandatory for our MedKab drivers to wear a HealthEast standardized uniform, carry a HealthEast photo ID at all times, undergo background checks, yearly reviews and physical exams.

Each MedKab vehicle is:
· Certified by the Department of Transportation (DOT)
· Equipped with multiple communication options
· Capable of accommodating more than one wheelchair or scooter
· Equipped with a hydraulic lift for increased safety
· Outfitted with plush interiors for added comfort

Courier
The HealthEast Courier team is a vital link within HealthEast Care System. Our couriers provide services to a variety of health care facilities and deliver equipment, lab specimens, mail and other materials seven days a week.
