Modern Heathcare has also named HealthEast one of the Top 100 "Best Places to Work in Healthcare" — in the nation. HealthEast is one of just two health care organizations in theTwin Cities to receive this honor.

This awards and honors program recognizes workplaces in healthcare that enable employees to perform at their optimum level to provide patients and customers with the best possible care and services.

To determine those workplaces, Modern Healthcare entered into a partnership with the Best Companies Group, a firm that conducts regional "best places to work" programs across the country. Organizations and companies from all segments of the healthcare industry with a minimum of 25 full-time employees were eligible.

On behalf of Modern Healthcare, the Best Companies Group conducted two surveys of healthcare organizations and companies that volunteered to participate. The first survey was a questionnaire for a participating employer. The second was a satisfaction survey of a participating company's employees.

For the fourth year in a row, HealthEast Care System has been named one of the "Best Places to Work" by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

HealthEast achieved the award based on:

Great results from hundreds of employees who completed the
Business Journal’s survey
Low employee vacancy rate
Low employee turnover rate
An increase in employee engagement

The Business Journal had a record-setting number of Minnesota companies — nearly 250 — competing for the distinction this year. The honor was awarded to 10 large companies (HealthEast included), 15 medium companies and 20 small companies.

The Business Journal determines the best places to work in part via a 40-question online survey. A 5% participation rate is required to qualify for the award. At HealthEast, an impressive 15% of employees participated in the survey.

Ginny Sullivan, Vice President of Human Resources, has been with HealthEast since 2000. From the beginning, she knew there was something different about the organization. "It is really easy for me to find passion for our mission here," she says. "Even though I am not a direct caregiver, I can see how I affect the patients."
